Photoshoppers: wanna make a couple bucks?

Unfortunately last time my hd crashed I never got a new copy of photoshop. My dad's playing a few shows and needs a poster made up. 11x17? I dunno, regular poster size. Keep in mind it's for a rock band. Most of the guys in it are like the premier musicians in Buffalo, so they'd like something kind of cool.

    up top, he wants

    Jim Calire
    formerly of Raven

and maybe a picture of him, many of which can be found on his website jimmycalire.com. There's a photo section.

then the band name. "The Project"

and he wants the names listed
    Mike Phelps
    JJ Muscatto
    Bob Falk
    Stephen Sadoff
    Billy McEwan

I'm sure he'd buy someone a case of beer or something for it. or paypal you 5 or 10 bucks. Need this done asap though please

    Thanks guys

You're going to need to provide pictures that are high res if you want a poster sized photoshoped image.

Your eye sees 300dpi and the internet can only handle 72 dpi. If you print out the 72dpi it's going to look like a bunch of pixels...or you're going to have some seriously small pics.

x2. what looks good on a screen doesnt look good on paper half the time... plus the files alone for that size, detail and clarity will most likly be so large it would require something for storage while being sent via mail... i have yet to find anyone host or attach a file of that size. iirc.

I did one and then I listened to the music...not so much.

I'm not that impressed with it but here it is.

Well - that is COMPLETELY wrong, but that is a discussion for another day..

It was a poorly worded statement...but the point is basically the same.

OK - just to clarify, the figure of 72 dpi for "web graphics" came from someone back in the 90's wanting to know what "DPI" a standard apple computer screen was.

The math went something like: with a 14" monitor at 640x480, It turned out that if you wanted a box 1" square on the screen, it would need to be 72x72 pixels. That of course doesn't hold true at all any more. Yet the idea persists to this day. I can't tell you how many people I've run into that insist on "scanning" images in at 72 dpi "cause that is what it has to be for the web"...It bugs the crap out of me.

Well I learned a bit of history today...I've always been taught 72dpi for internet usage.

That's why it is important to research and double check anything that you have been taught. Most people in the tech sector don't know anything about what they talk about.
