M50 vanos, or M20? M50 swap, or no swap?

So I havnt sold this m50 yet so now im thinking I should keep it and put it in my bimmer. I mean I have the transmission already in hooked to the m20. why not comlete it?

If I do do it, will it be worth all the hard work power wise? I mean how much more power will I be seeing here? better mpg?

What would be the pros and cons?

what all will I need for the swap? (ive been doing some searching and found some info but I like hearing it directly)

What all should I take from this 525i parts car to run the engine?

power-wise, an M50 vanos or not will not gain much on an m20, stock vs stock it's around 20hp. Keep in mind there's also a weight gain that goes with it. A decent modded m20 can be nearly as powerful as a stock m50.

reliability wise, the m20 runs forever with regular maintenance. The m50 isn't as well known for its reliability, but is still quite good. Make sure you stay on top of radiator, water pump, thermostat, head gasket, and oil pump nut and you should be fine.

mpg-wise, the M50 is king. It is a much more efficient motor than the M20. The m20b27 eta motor is more efficient than the m20b25 i motor, but neither are as good as the m50.

Now, search man! This has been covered in depth many times!
