Camera freaks, get in here now. Need advice...

I'm looking for a camera that doesnt seem to exist. Either that, or I dont know how to use a fucking camera.

    Here is what I want:
-The ability to take crisp pictures of shit that isnt standing completely still
-Good resolution so upwards of 8 mp
-Wide angle lense would be nice. Noticed a lot of the Carl Zeiss lenses on point and shoot camera are more of a wide angle type.
-Small form factor so I can put it in my pocket
    -Cost under 200 preferably

If I need to break out some loot to get the camera I'm looking for, then I will. I obviously want a DSLR but last time I checked, it wouldnt fit into my pocket.

I'd also like to be able to take fish eye type pics, but I guess this is a dslr lense option only right?

I really like Sony products too btw. I have all Sony laptops at home, so the Magicgate sticks plug right in.

EDIT: Night time pics would be nice.. This is more for parties, taking pictures while on my bike riding through town, good pics during the day, taking photos of my car and it not looking like a cell phone picture etc..

    Advice please...................

Canon SD1000(iirc) is what my mom has, takes awesome stills, motion shots are meh, but with work would be good.

I've had a previous version of this camera and I absolutely beat it to death. Great cam though!

Moving shots would be really important. Like top on the list though.
I was in the Sony store in Lenox in the ATL and played with a Sony all touch screen camera. I really like it a lot. It had a built in quick snap feature where it would burst like 5 shots in one click and was preset for it. I want that..
But not for 350 dollars in a point and shoot.

          Canon Powershot SD790.

With all of those functions you might have to shell out more than $200 to actually get something worth buying.

Nevermind I think you might want the Sony 150 more. Its cheaper but still 8.1 megs and supposedly a little faster shot to shot.

megapixels don't mean everything unless you're looking to make huge prints or something. my 3.2 MP canon powershot takes some great quality pictures, and it can capture totally still shots of stuff that's moving really fast by default.
i hear a lot of good things about the powershot series from canon, as well as the coolpix series from nikon.

check out craigslist man. i've seen plenty of 6-8 megapixel powershots and coolpix' for literally like between thirty and one hundred dollars, in great condition with all the manuals and connections and stuff. and a lot of them throw in 1gig or 2gig cards and stuff. craigslist FTW

edit: some of the features you want are kind of unrealistic for a point and shoot that can fit in your pocket.

                  I got the canon sd750

it's an awesome camera for the price, but if you want image stabilization, get the newer one (850, 1000 etc)
Not that I care, of course.

Thx guys. I think I'll look towards the NIkon and the Canon's. For the price it seems to be the best.

if you want to do nighttime shots, ISO is very important, and the noise at high iso levels, as far as which compact is best i do not know, but thats just something to keep in mind.
