File sharing program need help

I'm looking for a windows file sharing program that I can use between 2 computers since my laptop doesn't seem to accept anything USB or really anything for that matter. I want to get my music, gobs of pictures and school work off but I don't want to transfer it all by the 2 gb flash drive I have. I thought about an external HD but I'd rather not waste money on something that my laptop wont even pick up. Any help is accepted unless you are going to try and help my laptop with the driver problems.

If you're connecting them directly together you need a Cat-5e crossover cable, otherwise it won't work..

Its actually simpler than that. Just be on the same network.

As long as your two computers are on the same domain/workgroup (by default they will be), find out the computer name.

Go to start>run. Type in the fully qualified computer name with c$.

Ex:
Computer 1 computer name is D12345
Computer 2 is D56789

Go to the new computer. Type in the name of the other computer at hte run prompt.
\\D56789\c$

It will prompt for credentials. Type in \\computer name\username and then the password.

Boom you're browsing the other computers hard drive.

You can do what I just said with a crossover plugged together....

Otherwise just be on a the same hub/switch. Or wireless.
