We all know you have something against the place. Such small search queries place a big load on a database, so much that it
will slow down the site operation (especially since E30tech has more people online than r3v does), by default vbulletin limits search terms to more than 3 characters to help protect against this.

If you ever bothered to read the text in the faq regarding a search, you would find that you can use * as a wildcard for any search query, so for example, S50*. It will bypass the filter by searching for anything containing s50, in any combination at all regardless of the positioning of term in a word, it will return 3 character text.

If you really want to get picky twoj's, r3vlimited is far from perfect. The site sometimes has query problems, when hitting the submit button to reply to posts, it sometimes pauses before the post is displayed. For vbulletin, this can be due to database tables that arent optimised or I/O errors, possibly caused by corruption or an impending drive failure, or a problem with mysql backend. Regardless, queries shouldnt take that long to complete, a check at of the sql logs should show that a query took longer than expected. But, of course, r3v admins are perfect right, so they are on top of everything? I mean, every webmaster out there spends every moment of every day on their website waiting for something to happen, right? they are all expected to know everything about everything and be on top of every single detail?

Seriously, a lot of you on here have no idea how the back end of vbulletin works, the amount of conspiracy theories started in here is just unbelieveable. Yes, the entire E30tech admin team is out to make everything in your life difficult, they dream up new ways to fuck you around daily.

Man, some of you just need to wind it back a few clicks, way too much effort and hate put into your posts.



Its actually a function you can change in the admincp of vbulletin, you can limit search queries, so you can specify the number of characters, dont need to wait for the webhost admin to change it. :)

I'm unlocking this thread so I can respond to this.

We may have quite a few people complain on this site about e30tech, but at least we respond to reports of anything wrong with the site, usually very quickly and within 30 min.

1) All PM's hit my cellphone so I can see/respond to any activation issues
2) If the server is having any issues I am automatically paged via another server that sits in the same colo as the server
3) We own our own servers, we don't rely on hosting companies to send the lazy worthless 10/hr network guy over to fix the box.
4) In terms of slow queries, usually when the site slows down it is due to a large backup script that I run every 6 hours to ensure all site data is protected. That coupled with PHP's fairly new FAST-CGI Support on Server 2008 we can slow down once in a blue moon, however it is usually due to backup scripts that I run in the background.
5) We have suffered 2 major outages in the past 4 years, one was a firewall failure (nic blew up) and another was a blown switch.
6) We actually upgrade our VBulletin Software when security updates come out, E30tech is not even on the newer 3.7.X Release)
7) Don't come here making false accusations without looking at the entire picture.

and to be cool about it, its free to the end user. The few bucks they do charge for the corp. advertising Im sure does not even cover the amount bandwidth used each month. when i posted the pics of my car with sportmax's rims on this website i got flamed. like really badly example: danny that kid is flaming every single i make.

but when i posted a pic of my car on e30tech all what i get is nice car ,nice rims oh and lower your car..

so yah if you hate the car or you dont like the rims etccc . just say its not my style , dont post and move on.

just my 0.02 cents. btw i love R3Vlimited.

All I said sometimes, at random periods slow queries result. Unless you set your backup to occur randomly (totally different than any other webmaster I know), it isnt due to a backup script because it happens at different times.

Ohh and FYI, 3.6x and 3.7x are now two different stable builds. 3.6 is still a current version of vbulletin, the latest revision released last week, 3.6.11 and is the latest progression in the still current 3.6x package. 3.7x however is a new build and different from 3.6, incorporating new features, intended to run on php5 and mysql 5.0x. Saying 3.7 is the latest release is incorrect..

If you are running 3.7.2 have you applied PL2? because 3.7.3 fixes the xss flaws in 3.7.2 that can allow someone to gain access to user accounts or login details.

Where did i make false accusations? I never said anything at all about your backend other than the above, frankly I couldnt care if you are a colo or not.

3.6.X vs 3.7.X fair enough, however they are still running an outdated version of 3.6.X and not the latest 3.6.11 build, so my point is still correct.

We are running PL2, been running it since release without any troubles.

Slow queries have not been reported to me, and the only confirmed ones that I have seen are during my backup scripts (which I've also confirmed via logs)

If you want to be all high and mighty, then please continue, but I won't tolerate somebody calling me out without PMing me on my forum and acting like an egocentric dickhead in the process.

i dont usually go on e30tech as much as i do on R3v.. i love both , but yah i guess people hate sportmax's over here. anyways i am done with this thread. i don't want to get my self banned or somthing ,because to each have their opinion. as i said before i love both E30tech and R3vlimited.
