I thought he did a good job. O'Reilly was extremely fair, and I feel did a very solid job giving him props and calling him out on a few things.
My concerns:
- He didn't acknowledge directly the success of the surge in Iraq.
- He was unable to discuss what he would really do in Iran. Is it because he didn't want to "tip his hand" or because he doesn't know WHAT he would do, or because his answer would alienate his base.
- He wouldn't acknolwedge that he was wrong on surge, when O'Reilly gave him a solid out on it by giving him credit for being right about not going into Iraq in the first place.
Some of his answers seemed vague, or clandestine. It is disconcerning because THAT fact alone is what creates a lot of concern about Obama. I think that he is looking to get elected by getting the kook fringe left and pandering to the hard core demos, and rallying support against the war. In reality, he can't be honest with them because at some point he would HAVE to use military force against they different nations. He can't say that however, because he'd alienate the base.
Well done interview, I'm interested to see the rest of it.
