well, i just needed to share my expriences today. at my friends house doing nothing, and decided to go on a walk through the woods. walk down his driveway and into this huge field that we usually walk through to the woods on the other side, there's always just a single path cut through it. but today was different. as we walked into the field we noticed the entire field was mowed, so we exchange glances for ~20 seconds and then i finally say "you thinking what im thinking", "yup". so we immediately turn around and sprint back to my truck (2004 Chevy Silverado). now it rained alllllll day so the field was pretty wet, not like all mud, but pretty wet. so i threw my truck in 4 wheel drive, and FLOOOOOOOOR it. honestly, we ripped around in this field for atleast an hour and a half. although i wasted like a quarter of a tank of gas, it was one of the most fun experiences i've had in a very long time. just to clarify it before you guys flame it, im 16 and have never taken my truck off the road. just thought i'd share my experience with you guys due to the fact that EVERYONE must enjoy this atleast once.
Off Roading...

I used to "offroad" my VW Bus in the city park at 2AM, after the lights got shut off and the sprinklers had run their course. Almost hit a picnic table. I was 16 too. I wouldn't do that then if I had the mind I do now.
Oh yeah, I turned my lights off as well.Comment

no shit, four wheelers get a bad wrap for shit like that, when in reality it's the non-wheelers who often have the disregard to do something like that. sierra club fucks (and others like them) cite illegal wheeling as reason to close LEGAL trails.
serious-talk aside, you should go find an actual trail system, wheeling can be fun as hell!Comment

Yes it can. I've never done anything like in your sig, but in high school I had a 2000 XJ with an old man emu lift, and some 33's and I thought it was a trail rig. It was a blast doing shit in that thing so I'm sure doing some REAL wheeling would be really fun.
On another note, my friend had a WRX in high school and there was a huge grass lot by the Puyallup fairgrounds and we used to go do the same shit in there. But that was during lunch at school on the way back from Taco Bell. It really is fun.

A couple of months ago I drove my Mazda MPV 4x4 out to a new development that was under construction. The curbs were in place but the streets were still dirt and mud. I was doing fine and having a lot of fun until I hit a soft spot on the road.
Instead of backing out, I kept trying to go forward which sank me deeper into the ground. By the time I got out to assess the situation, the frame was sitting on the ground and I was stuck!Comment

Nothing wrong with not having a BUILT rig, it's amazing the amount of people you see getting rid of their tube rigs and going back to mildly built things. My dad wheels with me and is able to follow me in his stock yota pickup about 75% of the time, it's just the 'fun' stuff that he sits out. Though he is the type of person that is like 'wtf are you doing going up that wall?!' when we hit anything difficult!Comment
