^^ Thank You for that.
That man Ron Paul was who should be one of our presidential candidates. He knows more about our monetary system and has been fighting for fiscal responsibility and constitutional responsibility for 30+ years.
And yet, the media flushed him down the toilet right away. And thats the big shame. When I vote this year I will be writing in his name.

I'm just giving you a bad time, no hard feelings ;)Well it would need to be a more diplomatic annexation not just a heavy handed takeover. It has happened before. Texas was an independent country until they basically asked us to annex them.
I am going to stop talking about this though before I make myself sound like an idiot. I don't know a ton about the subject but I personally think it would work and be a good thing in the end.Leave a comment:

Not to sound like an arrogant American but damn right they would go along with it. Mexican citizens would welcome it for reasons that I don't need to explain. There will probably be a big outcry in Canada but I think I large amount of people would support it. They are already little America as it is, it wouldn't be much different for them. Also, there would be less taxes and more rights (such as gun ownership).
Or we lose our gun rights. And we use their tax rates. That would suck.Leave a comment:

You have fun trying to convince 2 sovereign governments/nations to abandon their independant countries......Not to sound like an arrogant American but damn right they would go along with it. Guest repliedWell like I said, if we annex Canada and Mexico that would be great. Acquiring land, workers and resources would be a great thing for the US. It would almost triple the size of this country and bring us up to par with the EU.
Canada would be super easy, all you have to do is look at it. The only problem I could foresee is the health care system. I'm not a big fan of socialized medicine but maybe we could give theirs a shot. We need something don't we?
Mexico would be a lot harder obviously. Securing their borders would be a bit harder I think and we would need to install some serious police in their cities. A serious crackdown on crime and corruption would need to be made before we started letting their citizens move freely North. It would need to be a much slower process with them but I think eventually it would work out.Leave a comment:

Guest repliedI honestly don't have a problem with that as long as the Constitution reigns supreme and the US President is the leader. It needs to be more of an annexation of Canada and Mexico by the United States. It will be great for security as we will no longer have to patrol huge tracts of land on the Canadian and Mexican borders. We can focus all of our security resources on Airports and Seaports. Also, Mexico could become an industrial powerhouse with a little more help. There are obviously huge amounts of people willing to work for cheap. Canada has tons of oil. I don't know what the estimated amount of barrels are but I know I was hearing that Canada could become self sufficient in that regard. The only thing to worry about is the NAU installing a new government with a new Constitution. That would be disastrous.Leave a comment:

I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic or not :)I think that sounds great.
We should be thinking more globally anyway, why not get the ball rolling?
Maybe Americans could own property in Mexico, maybe we could stem the flow of money, slow crime in Mexicos larger cities, maybe even control the drug cartels, who knows?
All I know is shit has got to change, and soon.
The problem with all that is we can't even fix our problems here at home. Everyone talks about 'controlling' this and that, but the truth is you can't 'control' criminals unless they're locked up, which we can't possibly do because we have so many stupid laws.
JPL is exactly right.Leave a comment:

I just read the wiki on the "Amero".
All the opinion of the Americans sounds to me like the americans have the attitude that we are still the strongest currency, thus I think the info might be out of date.
I bet not too many politicians or economists feel that way now.Leave a comment:
