This is actually a type of mental illness referred to as "squalor" which is similarly compared to people who are over compulsive pack rats.

I had seen several instances of this when I was an on-call technician for the cable company. Sometimes I would take service calls forwarded to my cell phone and every so often I would get some chick that sounded HOT over the phone. But when I got there, she was every bit of 500lbs surrounded by a pile of mess that looked pretty much like the link that Turf gave us.
