    Palin Beleives in Witch Craft!

The video shows Palin standing before Bishop Thomas Muthee in the pulpit of the Wasilla Assembly of God church, holding her hands open as he asked Jesus Christ to keep her safe from "every form of witchcraft."

"Come on, talk to God about this woman. We declare, save her from Satan," Muthee said as two attendants placed their hands on Palin's shoulders. "Make her way my God. Bring finances her way even for the campaign in the name of Jesus. ... Use her to turn this nation the other way around."

And the reason I say she beleives in it is because she actually had the ceremony performed. Our did she do it as a sell out to gain publicity, or both.

Either way just another example of the finest leaders this country has to offer.

Funny how you can hear him talking behind the dubbed over sections all through that.

Better her at a church who's pastor prays for the Lord to bless the future vice president and bless the country than Obama at a church who's openly racially challenged pastor invokes God Damn America.... not metioning all the other shit he's said.

Yeah but don't get the issues confused. Belief in a certain ideology does not denote the subscription or support of it.

              QFT

And his thread title makes it sound like she supports it. OP should be working for the papers.

That's not the point. The very fact that she believes in witchcraft is ridiculous enough. This is 2008 not 1690.

evidently there are those present who can't make this intuitive leap

I'll bet she has robot insurance too.
Not that I care, of course.

Context is everything. Put his quote in context and you will find that he was not invoking anything. Here is the quote in context:

“The government gives them the drugs, builds bigger prisons, passes three-strike laws and wants them to sing God Bless America.

                        “No! No No!

“God damn America … for killing innocent people.

“God damn America for treating citizens as less than humans.

“God damn America as long as she tries to act like she is God and supreme.”

I'm not posting an opinion directly regarding the content, just pointing out that it makes a lot more sense in context. He is a preacher, after all. Besides, Robertson and Dobson and Falwell have uttered their share of backwards, ignorant and intolerant statements and they've been cozied up to the GOP for years.

Frankly, I don't want another religious whack job I-do-what-the-voices-in-my-head-tell-me-to-do idiot in power. When anyone ever tells me they "know what god wants them to do", I write them off as a fool.

Palin thinks she knows what god wants her to do.....

What's sad is that THIS is the best the media can do to drudge up mud to sling at Palin. They sure are getting desperate.

"OMG, Palin had her preacher pray over her against witchcraft!" (in 2005 none the less, so NO this is not an immediate sell out for campaign publicity.)

Honestly, who gives a rats ass... I could only imagine what the press would say if he had choose Mitt Romeny for VP. Though I still love how the press is really getting desperate to tear her apart.

I'm no fan of Bush but there is no way you're going to convince me to vote for a Socialist.

Oh, please....Obama is no more a socialist than Bush. Or my own Rep. Boehner in his strident "Capitalism works! The markets will regulate themselves". I suppose that is, until they don't, when the government will step in and rescue the poor little foundering wretches. He's all for the bailout.

How many of those DC guys are just trying to protect their own investments with taxpayer funds? How much would those fatcats lose if the market were simply left to "self regulate"?

Obama did not create this environment of socialism.

Paraphrased from a "true" conservative blog:

Bush has doubled farm subsidies, greatly increased government involvement in education, has substantially increased government spending and is running the largest deficits in the history of our country. He no longer even bothers to promise a balanced budget. His best case scenario plans on a permanent budget deficit. Some economists believe that this President Bush will go down in history as the Republican president who most increased the tax burden on U.S. citizens.

So is Bush a closet socialist? For all of his talk of the free market, does he actually believe that more government is the answer to almost every problem? Unfortunately, it is hard for me to think of a problem he hasn't suggested throwing money at yet. Certainly our historical situation has changed, and we no longer worry about government seizing the means of production. But it is still unsettling to realize that 50 years ago a whole host of prominent Republicans would have been calling the President "Red George" and accusing him of trying to sneak socialism into our government.

I'd have to say, after researching those assertions, that the author is correct.
