are you looking to join the air force, or switching afsc's?

1A3X1 -areal com right? a friend of mine i was deployed with was areal com. he flew on a plane for all the USAFE brass. wore a suit, loved every minute of his job.

1A1x1 - flight engineer right? i believe your limited to C5's and C130's and pavlow's. I talked to a C5 FE... he loved his job, but said he was the only one on the plane that HAD to stay awake the entire mission. C5's fly a long time, makes you think while the pilot is banging the loadmaster hottie in the bunk, you have to be staring at some needles :(

1N0x1 - intell? u get to watch cool videos that the public doesnt get to see. desk job, no thanks

1W0x1 - weather? combat weather, cool. weather, no thanks. desk job

4B0x1 - had to look this on up. bio. hmmm. don't know anybody that's bio, but it's a desk job. oh wait, you go all around base and check water samples. whoopdie doo.

if i could retrain, i would no doubt be a flyer. CEA's kick ass. if your yound and don't have a family yet, then even better. that is the only down side i've ever heard about a being a CEA ever is that family life sucks.

when my retrain window opens (i'm overseas so it's more difficult) then this is my list of what i want to retrain into

    1. Loadmaster
    2. flight attendant
    3. areal gunner
    4. flight engineer
    5. boom operator

now that's just me, but your first two jobs seem good, the others will be cool for about 6 months then just turn into every other lame job out there.

take mine for instance. you would think working with bombs and missles is cool right? well not so much. i spent 18 months moving boxes around. 8 months opening and closing those boxes. and now i hand out tools and T.O.s to guys and read regs. all day long i read regs.

I'm sure beaing a load master has it's desk jockey positions too, but i can only hope that it's not like my current career field.

if your joining the air force, don't believe the recruiter if he makes you go to boot camp with the JOB YOU WANT!!! i told my recruiter no 4 times to jobs. I just got sick of waiting around after 11 months so i took ammo even though it wasn't on my pick of 5 AFSC's. 2 weeks after i accepted the ammo slot, my buddy got a loadmaster slot. this would have been my job!!!!

anyways, unless you have a pregnant psyco running down your door and you gotta leave town now, don't join unless you have the job you want assigned to you with a date!

As for flight Attendant you wont like it. Lots of brass and you in blues getting more coffee... no thanks.
