As of today - space is now corporate.

SpaceX Falcon 1 rocket has finally reached orbit. The achievement marks a major milestone for Elon Musk, whose visions of a privately-funded rocket program appeared just out of reach until today's success.
Interestingly enough, most of the technology uses was "borrowed" from NASA. The second stage engines are a replica of the lunar modules motors - or so I heard. I could be wrong.

Either way - my father designed the cryogenic fittings that flew on the apollo missions.

It's an interesting time to be alive....

It's been this way since industrialization. We are perpetually on the cusp of cool stuff - the Internet will be HUGE in the future.

The people that will consider private space travel routine in the future will always have the next development to look forward to.

Unless, of course, we end up Mad Maxin' in the next few decades, which is beginning to look more likely.

I agree, I believe that it is an extremely interesting time to be alive. The amount of progress in the last 100 years is mind bowing.

I can't wait until I can sell my children and go to space.

just go to spacex.com I would assume. About time they get a rocket up, I didn't know they were even launching this soon after the last failure. Oh well, hopefully all the bugs are out of the Falcon 1 and they can push on. I just hope they develop the Dragon quick enough that NASA can use it in between the Shuttle and Orion.
