I'm considering doing it that way, but I doubt my girlfriend will be able to see over the steering wheel of the truck and I dont want to drive 18 hours straight and then unload shit :p

When I moved from SoCal to Seattle we did it in 2.5 days. When we came back it took almost 3. You WILL get sick of doing 65mph with a trailer, and the law says you should be doing 55 so good luck with that. It's also a lot more tiring driving a loud moving truck than zipping down in a car. You also have to stop at every weigh station, not to mention fuel stops for that thirsty beast. You're doing the right thing planning for multiple days.

Out of curiosity, hows the weigh station shit work?

Do you just roll through or do you come up and stop?

Hopefully you'll get the chance to swing through. If not, good luck, and I'll miss you, buddy.

Pull in, get in line, roll slowly over the scales, (hope they don't decide to stop you) and pull back into traffic. Be VERY aware of the first one when you cross into CA. They had 101 questions for me and they camp that long downhill before it hoping to catch you doing over 55mph with a trailer. My dad was pulling my boat with my F150 and got the "slow the F down" gesture from the trooper as he rolled by. Luckily I was going slower in the moving truck or I'm sure he would have nailed me.

PS There are uphill areas where you'll struggle to do 40 if you're loaded down. Factor that in as well. :)
