heres a couple of my new M3

this just fell into my lap. my parts guy called me 2 days ago asking me what an 88 M3 with 91k miles on it is worth. when he told me whose car it was i told him id take it, just get me a price. i know this car and ive known its history for 4 years. the guy i bought it from is super anal and has been chasing a vibration for 3 years. the techs all told him its an s14 and its buzzy but he thinks something is wrong with it. so its gotten all this in the last 6 months
new metric mechanic 5 speed, new driveshaft, evo2 flywheel, new clutch and pressure plate, guibo, waterpump, all belts, exhaust cam gear, all new timing rails and chains,r134 conversion, supersprint exhaust and a bunch of small shit. car appears bone stock with stock suspension. it needs brakes but it came with all new rotors and pads in boxes. initially i planned to flip it but after putting about 50 miles on it last night i think ive fallen in love. im going to go thru it and make it perfect and then see what i feel like. body is nice with no large dents but a couple of dings that will come out with PDR. clearcoat is poor on the rear bumper skin and the spoiler in back has the typical cracks. but for a 20 yo car its pretty nice. a doctor in rochester owned it from new and put 50k on it and the guy i bought it from put the last 40k on it. its never been tracked or autocrossed. interior is unripped and even the drivers bolster is perfect altho the leather on the seats needs top be leatheriqued or something.

Looks like someone needs a window switch. I'd say your a lucky guy, but I assume you worked hard for it, so enjoy, regardless of what everyone at r3v says, you deserve it.

How is it back to back with the 02?

the passenger window doesnt work so i pulled the switch last night in the dark but said fuck it when i couldnt see anything. its different than my 02 for sure. the 02 is much faster but this thing just feels awesome. slow but so well balanced. theres something really special about a stock e30m3. they are like nothing ive ever driven. the chassis talks to you and tells you when youre at its limit if that makes sense

Of course it makes sense, were else but on a car forum would you think you could find people that understand how cars talk. Myself, I love it when they tell me to take them from the rear exhaust coupling.

i would agree but thats the only thing i dont like about this car is the shitty looking DTM tips. its a supersprint but i wish he would have chosen the straight out tips

Is the Metric Mechanic gearbox still a G265? The car looks quite solid, and the interior is just as impressive. Given its condition, I'd say it's a keeper at least for a little while. In terms of brakes, I'd just get some OE replacements or Brembo slotted rotors, stainless lines, and Hawk HPS or Axxis Ultimate pads.

                            S50 timing chain tensioner?
