My friends and I did this during summer. Its fucking fun, but some mods need to be done to it before you can really drift like they do.
1. make sure its a one way hub (so you don't need to turn the crank to go)
2. plastic rear tires, rubber front
3. brake off anything limiting the steering angle so you can get mad skillz
4. get lots of replacement rear plastic wheels cause they get torn to shit and its bad ass :)
Toys 'R us sells them for like 45ish...I got mine for 25 cause it was the display one.Flickr

I think they're only around like $100 or so.
Thunderstruck makes ANYTHING cooler. You could have a bunch of 80 year old librarians with different volumes of the dictionary walking toward the camera in slow-motion, with that song playing, and it would be the coolest FUCKING thing you'd ever seen. Don't even front.Comment

Pssh, no handbrake? My old skool big wheel had one of those.
It also had streamers and was decked out to look like the general lee.
-CharlieSwing wild, brake later, don't apologize.

I thought about it, and it wouldn't really work anyway, I go pretty much straight up a hill, and straight down for all my classes. Would be a PITA and not much chances to drift.sigpicComment

Didn't you guys have big wheels when you were little? We'd do this all the time.Comment
