    any video editors?

i might be trying to undertake something way over my head here,
but im making a slideshow for a bunch of buddies of mine from when

we were back in college, its alumni weekend coming up and i was
hoping to make something before then, long time joke that a friend

of mine was obsessed with patrick swayze, so i was thinking how
hard/what would it entail for me to paste a picture of my buddy

on the head of patrick swayze while he does that dance at the
end of dirty dancing? im looking for something free that isnt too

difficult, might be a lost cause but i figured i'd ask for the hell of it

can that be done for movies tho?

it doesnt need to be perfect, even a MS paint copy and paste over swayze's head would work, just to get the point across

If peeps can make YouTube vids, it can be done.

It involves tracking the head of the dancer - not the easiest thing for a beginner.

I'm sure it would be funny, but my advice is to look for other ways to make things funny besides special effects.

I don't know of any free software that would do it. But you could export the video frame by frame, paste the head in place, and then put that back into your timeline. Could take a while though (you've got 30 frames per second of video).

Did you need this done asap? I have about 7 years editing experience and can do it pretty easily, but I'm in the middle of midterms right now and wouldn't be able to do it for about another week or so...

yeah alumni weekend is this coming weekend, its all good tho dont worry about it.

side note, my windows movie maker is freezing when i try to import a video, are there any programs out there that are just as easy to use, its a basic slideshow with music in the background and pictures and short video clips. thanks

get a gif of the dancing and edit the face on in every split image.

I'm and editor, and I can tell you that most of the stuff you are asking is not easy. I find it hilarious when people assume there is a single button to get something done, ie: Cut A Head and Track It On Someone Else's Body...button-

It doesn't matter the video format until you figure out how you want it exported. If you want it on a DVD, just do the best format you can. Most likely in it's raw state.. so format wont matter.

To do a decent tracking job I would suggest using Adobe After Effects.
