Most art professors frown on drawing from pictures, as it's cheating. The camera has already done the work and accurately transcribed a 3D object into 2D for you.

Depends on the class. I'm in a design class and we're using pictures and drawing from them but have to use traits like distortion and things like that to work with.

This looks like the gunslinger from Stephen King's Dark Tower series. It's an excellent "drawering."

It is Clint Eastwood, obviously. But the shading and whatnot make it look like the Gunslinger. Believe me, it's a compliment. The Dark Tower series is my favorite series of all time, and I used to be a voracious reader before my daughter was born. The artist who did the sketches for the first and last Dark Tower books is very well known.
