Need some online car selling tips...

I have been trying to sell my X5 for months now some guy from Ohio has been talking to me about purchasing it. I have never sold a car online so i am really wary of getting scammed and fucked. He told me he was with a dealer called United Auto Sales and the address he gave me is in Maumee OH. I tried looking up the business on the BBB but they don't have any records and i couldn't get anywhere googling it either. I assumed it was some small independent lot that might not have a site. Its a long shot that anyone here would know of this place but i figured i would ask. Also what else should i be looking out for? He told me he wants to fly out next week and buy it with a cashiers check. How can i guarantee its legit? Any other tips you got would be aces.

      + 1, or a bank wire...
Hemingway said it best. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely games.”

Tell him to meet you at your bank to check it out. That way, if he buys it, there is a notery public nearby, and you can make sure the check is good before you sign the title.

Spend the extra 3 minutes and take high resolution pictures of the car.

7k for peeling paint, rust, a nasty engine bay, "eh" interior and every crappy forum mod you can come up with on a 200k car?

                Yikes.

Anyways, do what the other guys say. Bank Thing, where they check, check?

Oops I pissed off an admin.

Understandably the best way to ensure that I get paid haha but most people do not feel comfortable flying cross country with fifteen grand.

The bank he uses is pretty much local to ohio, illinois and a couple of other states out that way. He said that when he got here that we could stop at his bank and he would just withdraw cash so that relieves me a little bit, except there isn't a branch in my state.

I guess we will find out wednesday if i get fucked or paid.
