I've watched a few episodes. It honestly reminds me of stories my father would tell me of working in the air force with civilian secretaries in the 60's. That is after all, how he met my mother.
It's endearing how submissive the women are - for a second. Only a second. After that, I think a conservation with the wallpaper would be more interesting.
Otherwise, give me a smart bitch that can hold her own in a conversation.

Well, posterity, you will never know what it cost us to preserve your freedom. I only hope that you will make a good use of it. If you do not, I shall repent in heaven that I ever took half the pains to preserve it.
Great show. It is a lot like the Sopranos so if you liked that show you might like Mad Men. It shares a lot of the same themes such as rocky marriage, children growing up, stressful work, infidelity, etc. The thing that makes it so cool though is that it is set in the early 60's. After the very conservative 50's and before all the radical social changes of the late 60's. You really get a feeling that things are changing and that these people are kind of lost at times. The cinematography is great and the costumes and sets are very authentic. I think I read somewhere that they meticulously verify that every object shown was manufactured before the date of the show taking place. Mad Men is my favorite show on TV right now.
