No but goddammit somebody should. This is the same man that said one of his jail mates sewed together an American flag from lint and pieces of cloth and then said the pledge of allegiance every day. My bullshit meter hit maximum when I heard him say that. McCain is full of shit.Comment

I can't find the name "John McCain" in any list of "American Heroes"
I mean... even this guy shows up:

I'm sure I'll get shit for this and some comment like "what does this have to do with anything". I worry about our country.Comment

I'm a filthy, idiotic, and sexually devious left-wing elitist liberal who secretly hates his country, let me say that first.
Second, when John McCain got the party nomination I was excited since it seemed like no matter who won, Obama or McCain, our country would be ok. McCain seemed like he would be willing to reach across the aisle and make nice with everyone, while avoiding accusations about how unpatriotic his fellow politicians are (something the Bush administration seemed unable to do).
Then the real campaign started and McCain turned into just another "I'll do or say whatever it takes to win" politician.
The last 8 years of Bush made me very tired of having my patriotism questioned as a liberal, and I'm sick of the "Shut up, poppa knows best" politics of the Bush era. McCain & Palin have done nothing during this campaign to not make me feel like that's what we're going to get again.
Why can't we acknowledge that each of us loves our country and anything we try to change is only out of a sense of duty and loyalty for our homeland? Liberal or conservative we all love our country, why act like half of the country is trying to destroy the other half, because that's simply not true. The Keystone Killers

Actually, here is an article which I believe echoes your sentiment nicely.
I agree with you that rolling over for everything the government does and patriotism are not necessarily intertwined. To some, questioning the leaders and/or direction of the country is "anti-American" and un-patriotic. Wonder what the Founding Fathers would say about that?
Palin has been one of worst in recent memory pandering to this demographic with her "Real Americans don't apologize" rhetoric.
And as far as what "real Americans" are doing these days? Apparently not contributing to the McCain/Palin campaign. And they haven't even had their wealth redistributed yet. ;)Comment

RANT of TRUTH. - i feel like punching a priest in the face.
the problem with america today is that it IS seen as "unpatriotic" to question your government, when in fact, questioning your government IS AMERICAN.
FUCK the PATRIOT ACT.
FUCK CLINTON for our housing/economic swell that is collapsing beneath us and draggin the rest of the WORLD's ECONOMIES WITH US.
FUCK BUSH for PUTTING us in IRAQ AND STRESSING EVEN CAPITALISM's PRODUCTIVE POWERS.
FUCK CHURCHES for their SPLIT-TONGUED sickly MOLESTATION of their fundamental purpose by becoming POLITICALLY INTERTWINED during THIS 2008 ELECTION AS WELL AS THEY DID IN 2004.
FUCK the "RELIGIOUS" FOR LETTING IT HAPPEN.
FUCK ILLEGAL IMIGRANTS FOR TAKING ADVANTAGE OF OUR BROKEN SYSTEM and taking wealth OUTSIDE of our country.
FUCK the POOR for RELYING on HANDOUTS instead of pulling THEMSELVES UP AND OUT.
FUCK THE DEMOCRATS for BLOCKING NATURAL SELECTION.
FUCK the RICH for NOT GIVING A DAMN ABOUT ANYONE OTHER THAN THEMSELVES.
FUCK THE REPUBLICANS for NOT PROMOTING NATURAL SELECTION.
FUCK YOU if you find my vugarities inappropriate or my perspectives out of place. MAYBE A SINGLE PARTY CONTROLLED US GOVERNMENT WILL FIND A WAY TO LIMIT MY CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS.Last edited by LEANE30; 10-26-2008, 12:26 PM.Comment
