Let's have a thread about guitars

Jimi liked his ;)
It's more Strat than Tele in terms of neck feel & body contours, and the headstock was a hurdle for my mind to get over at first. Then I started noticing that upper-string bends are a whole lot easier with the tension offered by a reverse stock. I thought I might be imagining things until I asked Greg @ BCR "Is it just me or..." and he confirmed my observations.Leave a comment:

^^ that is an interesting sort-of-telecaster. How do you feel about the reverse headstock?Leave a comment:

Ok, back on topic
Here's my collection

Robin Ranger. (photo taken by Greg @ BCR Music just before he swapped the Muy Grande tele pickup out of the bridge)
What it's got under the hood:
-Rio Grande BBQ Bucker s/c tap-able in the neck
-Rio Grande Vintage Tallboy strat in middle
-Rio Grande Fat Bastard P-90 in bridge
-hardtail bridge w/ GraphTech saddles
-Spurzel locking tuners
-bone nut
Yeah, it can do it all.
Other guitar is a Hamer import ES-335 copy. It's got a BBQ Bucker in the neck & a Fat Bastard in the bridge, too (I sense a trend...). It still needs good hardware before I consider it good.
One of my basses:

G&L L-2000 The neck's been swapped out for a Moses Graphite fretless since the photo was taken
Not pictured:
G&L ASAT bass (transparent blue, rosewood) my road hound & go-to axe. (been around the country twice)
G&L SB-2 (tobacco burst, mapleboard) my first good bass
Hamer 12-string (black, of course) because it's there
Modulus SweetSpot5 (transparent blue over flamed maple) picked thus up from a friend real cheap. It's an early model with an ugly pickguard. Shame, that.
The amps (sorry, no pics. you'll have to trust me on this one):
-Zvex NanoHead 1w of sonic fury (a whole lot louder than you'd think)
-Fender Princeton sf (mid-mod & reverb pulled) it needs work
-Trace Elliot Velocette "The Flamethrower"
-Budda TwinMaster 18w 1x12 a completely under-rated amp that is louder than most 50w Marshalls
-homebrewed 212 cab. The size of a Marshall 412 non-slant but with only two holes, filled with a ToneTubby H1E alnico and an Avatar Hellatone 30 (Celestion G12H30 that's been pre-aged). IMHO it is the best sounding cab I've ever heard.
-Ultimate attenuator
Bass Rig(s):
-Mesa/Boogie Bass 400+ (400w all-tube)
-Trace Elliot QuatraValve head (200w all-tube)
-SWR Interstellar Overdrive preamp
-Alembic F-1X preamp
-Nemesis 210 combo
-Eden D410XLT
-Eden D210XST
That's all I can remember at the moment. Oh, and a buddy of mine just picked up a Gibson '61 Reissue SG for dirt cheap. Turns out the neck will need to be reset. Looks like my weekend is full!Leave a comment:

I can see this thread has gone down the drain in typical r3v fashion.Leave a comment:

Bump because I have new gear.

All of this has cost me about $200 so far. The Les Paul is a 1970 Univox that I got as a pile of parts. I'm going to tear it down and redo the finish on the body in a month or two. The Tele started as a similar pile of parts, I've added a few too many switches to it but it sounds nice and twangy. The amp is an Ampeg V-4 that I found in a storage room and fixed...Leave a comment:

bump for more gear pics.
Also bump for me finally learning more than four chords and random wankery.Leave a comment:

My jackson fell off a chair and now has a chip ;_;
Also, any luthiery-type-folks wanna suggest an idea of how to get the neck surface flat enough to glue a fretboard down on without issue? (without removing much material. My SG's neck is already very thin)Leave a comment:

I had to add it to this thread too, the flame maple top on this guitar is too insane. This is the newest addition to the collection, just added Anderson H3 and H1- pickups to itLeave a comment:
