Any one have any input on a Line 6 Pod? I've been looking at the Bass Floor Pod, but I've seen mixed reviews.

Just sold my Bass POD LiveXT. Reason being: it always sounded exactly like what someone sitting at a computer thought an amp sounded like. It was quite believable. Until you heard that actual amp. Then you realized that it will never be what you want it to be.

I bought mine to help my Nemesis combo become more versatile at gigs. Every time I gigged with the POD I was never happy with the tone (sterile or boomy or tinny or something). I would then plug straight into the combo and be instantly happy. They may work someday, but not yet. At least not for me.


Tele pics will come in due time. Lollars haven't arrived yet & I'm still trying to figure out how best to age the raw wood on the neck (as well as the headstock). I might end up smoking it.

I reset my first SG neck today. Clamps are still on so I don't know how it turned out. I do know that when you start with a neck heel in 4 pieces, then you can't expect perfection. I just hope it turns into a solid worker, since it won't win any pageants.

Thanks, that's what I thought. I've only had my bass for a little over a year, and haven't had the money to pick up a bass amp. I'm running it thru a Crate guitar amp currently. It doesn't sound too bad, but I would like to be able to get some real bass tones, and I was hoping that a Pod would work. I've been looking at some Line 6 amps, but it will be a while before I would have that much extra money. That sucks that they don't work well.

If you play in a cover band that has to do multiply genres, a POD will work well. In fact, it will certainly sound better than your bass running through a Crate guitar amp. However, I still think your money would be better spent on a used G-K head and a bass cab.

kronus, no pics of the process, since I can't wrestle a neck, a steamer & a camera all at the same time. The neck appeared perfect before removal (save for the 2 inches of play @ the headstock). Once I got it out, the heel turned out to be in 4 pieces. I had to finish each break so I could glue it up properly. This turned into an ugly deal on the heel finish, but should be a structurally sound joint. Final gap-fill glueing tonight.

Played when I was a kid, got back into it 4 or 5 months ago.

Been playing my cousins squire I had on semi-permenant loan, but bought an Epi LP a few weeks ago and picked up a new amp today!! My fingers hurt lol

SG neck is back on, TonePros bridge installed. It plays really nicely! It is a whole lot more bitey & snarling than what I remember them sounding like. I'll try to post pics.

In the last few months, I've refreshed, put electronics in, and sold a lawsuit Les Paul, a telecaster, got rid of my frankenstrat (accidentally gave it to my friend's little sister when drunk), built another telecaster, and got into basses.
