    Obama's grandmother

I caught this story late today and found out while briefly looking at his live speech in NC.

Like one of the commentators on The Situation Room put it, it's almost Shakesperian. :(

Please R3V'ers dont make a nasty debate out of this thread.

You can say that again - not to mention (and with out getting political) that stuff like that can boost a candidate's vote.

I wish to remind our friends South of the Border to go to vote on Tuesday. Anyone who doesn't vote, doesn't deserve the right to speak out afterward.

        May she rest in peace.
All politics side, the Obamas have my condolances

I wonder, tho, how this will effect the polls...

On Sunday, Lewis Hamilton was the first black to win an F1 championship.
Maybe another first will happen tomorrow... It is sad that the grandmother will have missed her grand son's presidency by one day...

Very. This goes for any person who has an exciting big day so close and a loved one (, although expectedly) passes.

I dont care who wins really, since Im ignorant to their policies, since they all lie anyways. But youre right, its a real shame she is going to miss it. IF he does win, Im sure shed be proud...obviously.

Tragic, the timing was cruel, but I'm sure she was amazed to see her grandson make it as far as he has now.

My thoughts are with the Obama family.

I am registered but I don't like either one, nor do I feel like standing in line for 5 hours.

Very sad news, it would have been nice if she could have hung on for another day to see the election outcome.

I do not like Obama's policies, and I don't like many of McCain's policies, but one positive aspect that I hope comes out of a potential Obama presidency is that he will instill some inspiration in kids that think race is holding them back in society, and not increase their assumption of social inferiority.

RIP. It is too bad she couldn't hold out for just a couple more days, cancer is a terrible thing.

My grandma passed 2 weeks ago as well.

Like him or not I give condolences as well....

I would say that any of us would be proud of a son to make it this far......

While I'll cast my vote for Obama I'd feel the same way about McCain.

Indeed, I heard that there are too few of these touch screen devices and that waiting lines could be long... It's a shame it could have become more difficult to vote in the USA than in Botswana...

I voted three weeks ago in Montreal and I waited about 10 minutes
