Plumbing work can be upwards of $80 to $90 per hour. Do some re-pipes and run a crew you can easily make that kind of money. Also got to live in a large older city with old plumbing issues.Build your own dreams, or someone else will hire you to build theirs!

Now that you mention it, however, this is found on a site that is a direct link from the official McCain/Palin campaign site. And to be clear, the disclaimer is worded in such a way as to give the impression that the McCain/Palin campaign doesn't see a benefit and that the items purchased are not tax-deductable. It does not in any way state that McCain/Palin are not personally profiting from the sales of those items. And, yet again, we see that perhaps the McCain camp chose poorly those who represent his image.

Run a crew? Now you have match dollar-for-dollar their FICA and Medicare deductions, pay Worker's Comp insurance premiums, liability insurance; insurance and maintenance on several vehicles, not to mention expensive ads in ALL the phone books in your area. And let's not forget state licensing and bonding fees, too!
Let's not even begin to discuss how you plan to compete with the illegal immigrants in the pickup truck that underbid everyone in town.....

Ignorance of the costs of doing business is why the vast majority of new businesses fail in the first three years. "Gosh, plumbers charge $90 an hour! I like plumbing, so I think I'll go into business and make some serious cash". Then, faced with insufficient capital and a surprisingly large cost of doing business, they implode. Read the E-Myth and get back to me if you find my dose of reality bitter. Joe hasn't read it, and is laboring under the dangerous and ill-considered misapprehension that he will make lots of money once he buys the business in which he works.
The simple fact of the matter is that Obama's tax plan, if enacted-remember, it would have to make past the House and Senate first, would not have a negative effect on the vast majority of struggling small businesses, in spite of the McCain/Palin assertions that it would. This is because the vast majority of small business owners will never, ever see anything near $250K in personal profit. Further, since many small business owners have no taxable income, due to business expenses/losses, McCain's tax credit based health plan will not help them. Can't get a tax credit if you had no taxable income!Last edited by Old'n'Slow; 11-04-2008, 07:52 AM.
