I think all illegals should be deported. but i'm in favor of immigrants having an easy path to become citizens, especially if they give up their citizenship to whatever nation they came from.

You also speak as if becoming a citizen is the only way to become a law abiding person in the US. I've lived in the US for upwards of 10 years and I'm neither an illegal nor a citizen. One can be a permanent resident alien and still abide by all the laws.

Furthermore, why the hell should I have to give up my citizenship to become a US citizen when I can have dual-citizenship? My parents recently became dual citizens; of Brasil and now of the US.

Come to think of it, they did that just in time to participate in one of the most historical elections ever...

I am an "alien" here in Germany and do not and will not ever become a "citizen"-- My wife and daughter are legally german-- i pay taxes here, I feel I have a right to be here??!!??-- I do deal with idiots like you here too- that dont like "foreigners"

mike, you arent even talking about the same thing. you said it yourself. you pay taxes. i have no problem with any person who is here legally and contributes to society instead of being here illegally and sucking the system dry. its not about ethnicity or color. its about paying your way and following the laws of our country

I'm no more for illegal aliens entering the US than anybody else, but damn it pisses me off to hear people talk about it like they deserve America simply because they were fortunate enough to be born here. Yes, legal citizens pay taxes that illegals dont, but if we reconfigured our tax system (simply tax goods and services, and not income) all the illegals would pay just as much as anybody else. There's really no way to keep them out, or to deport all of them, so why not at least get revenue from them? If they don't want to be legal, fine, we'll still get their money and everyone can stop bitching.
