    27 nations in Europe just barely have an economy larger than just the US... with 66% more people.

    Europe is quite different than the US. You can leave your kid in a stroller outside a cafe in Denmark and not worry about it. Adding socialist policies would increase the free rider problems of this nation.

    Freer economies are shown to have greater growth, and in these days, more nations are moving towards that in order to improve. Look at how China is evolving.

    Just because some nations want to remove incentives doesn't mean it is the right thing to do in America, the land of liberty.

    Edit: True Socialism has never been implemented.
