I coincidently caught this Palin item while browsing O' Reilly's Talking Points clips on FoxNews early this morning. I was suprised FoxNews actually reported on it. Amazing how Bill O'Reily sort of spin-doctered it.

It was like he was showing compassion for a person's slip up.
    O'Reily showing compassion???!?!!?!

If you honestly don't know the seven continents than you have no god damn right to be VP. Sorry. A 5th grader knows that.

Have you checked the totals? It was a pretty big gap for Obama. 6%+

There are a lot of people in McCain's circle who have thought for a long time that Palin was a huge mistake. They couldn't unring the bell and drop her, as that would have been suicide. They tried to control here, but her ego was too big. Hence all the reports about her "going rogue" and saying things way off script.

Not sure that with the econ crisis McCain could have won, but no doubt she was a big part of the reason for his loss.

I think all these disclosures from McCain's people are geared towards ensuring this screw up is finished and disappears from the national scene. Dunno if it will work.

Bush is dumb, but not stupid. He knows he is not an intellectual. Palin on the other hand, is really dumb, but her diva mentality is such that she "knows" otherwise. Someone tells her to go get a few outfits, and she turns it into a shopping spree for her whole clan.

How can people possibly think she could be the savior of the republican party?

^ I have absolutely no idea. If she is the best they have to offer then the GOP might as well go ahead and dig its grave. She appeals to the Religious Right and not a whole lot else, which is ironic considering she eloped, and had a baby 8 months later. I'm a registered Republican, but i have absolutely no desire for Palin's political career to go any further than AK.

When she runs in 2012, I will vote for her. I will vote for her just for the simple reason that she is so fucking hot. Id like to fuck her and Tina Fey dressed (well, undressed) as her as the same time. Thatd be awesome.

Who else do they have right now? Old, out of touch white guys don't sell. They need a 40-something that can talk. Palin did not cost McCain the election, if anything she kept it closer than it would have been. She energized the republican "base" who would have just as likely voted Barr or someone else.

Did McCain have a chance? Nope. To borrow a term from '92, it's the economy, stupid. Coupled with 8 years of Bush, the republican well has been poisoned for a while. I wanted to get behind McCain, but all I really saw up there was Dole '96, a halfassed candidacy against an overwhelming favorite.

Palin would be the perfect republican Obama if she shuts her mouth every now and then. She's a fresh face, she truly believes half the hardline bullshit, much like Barry O, she's very personable, gives a great speech, and scares the shit out of a lot of people. Her "7 day creationist" church doesn't scare me any more than Barack's "Kill Whitey" church.

Seriously, who else is there? Romney? Please. Huckabee? Maybe, doubtful. Giuliani is damaged goods. Jeb isn't gonna poke his head out. There's a dearth of dynamic young "R's" Palin fits the role perfectly. There's no Gingrich ala 1994.

Frankly, if she doesn't run/get the nom in 2012, I see her as a "Howard Dean" type role.

Bobby Jindal. Only thing holding him up is he has to run for re-election in 2011, which overlaps with the 2012 cycle.

                      Why not.

If the kooks in Loo-weez-i-ana will vote for him . . . why not the rest of the home schooling, snake handling base?

He would appeal to the evangelicals, is smart, a good speaker, and energetic. White guilt post college educated types woule like him too.

I was gonna say Jindal as well, he's fucking sharp. I don't care what he looks like. I didn't vote for McCain because Palin is hot, i also didn't vote McCain because Obama is black. For all i care Jindal could be of Saudi Arabian descent, but he is practically Ronald Reagan 2.0--which is exactly what the GOP needs.

Reagan was 28 years ago, can we come up with something else?

Is there something wrong with Reagan? He lowered taxes 30%, united the Country, and had great foreign relations. I'd rather like to have someone similar again.

Oh and referencing your slightly earlier post, i wish we could have Gingrich, but he'll never run again or get elected. He is a freaking genius, though.

They should put her on "Are you smarter then a 5th grader"

                              She'd fail miserably.
