That I broke my scaphoid?


Well I went to the doctor yesterday after 6 weeks in a cast. And it hasn't healed.. The bone died..

Awesome week, got laid off, wrist is fubar'd and a bunch of other little things.

Has anyone ever had a bone graft?

Key ripes. Sorry to hear about your wrist and week. I've had several compound fractures and other breaks (including a few to the skull), but I've never had to go through a bone graft. At least you get to keep your hand.

I've had a bad year, but i'm keepin my head up. I have my bad times but i'm still kickin it.

I'm just not looking forward to the 6 month recovery time.

I broke my leg in 2, about 2 years ago, that was a bitch.

wtf? the bone died? are you certain? that sounds crazy. ive never had a bone graft but my wife does it. she also grafts tissue to gum lines and makes it reproduce cells. fucking wild what they can do.

The scaphoid doesn't get very much blood flow, so when it breaks, it doesn't heal quickly, and it is very possible that I could die. So the solution is to take fresh bone from the hip and put it in place of the dead bone.

I've had a gum graft, I had a receating gum on my eye tooth from brushing too much, and they took tissue from the roof of my mouth and grafted it onto the tooth.

i am going back next week for re-skin grafting on my right wrist and forearm so i can once again have full use of my right hand.

laid off/fired because of my injury that happened at the same work and their lack of safety procedures and equipment. that is after 6 months of being back on the job and them doing everything they could to get me to quit. finally my stubbornness won out and they dropped the axe.

a couple of weeks ago i sent out 70+ resumes both to employment agencies and to ads on line for anything bodywork (I-car gold cert. and 6 years exp. + 5 as a mechanic) related and welding related (AWA mig/tig and I-car CERT). no fucking replies!

I had two bone grafts in my knee, and one of them didn't completely take, so I have to have that part redone.

Here's to 6 more weeks on crutches and a couple months getting proper strength back in my leg, again. I feel for you man, just keep your head up. Tell them it hurts really bad and you need some pain meds. And tell them no vicodin, you want the oxy shit.
