today is a great day for me

Well, I just found out some awesome news that will change the rest of my life for the better. I was accepted to Mercer University's Doctor of Pharmacy program for the class starting in 2009. Today is a great day, not bragging, I'm just excited.

i thought pharmacy was a terminating degree, ending at a masters, but being called a DR?

No, it is an actual doctorate degree, PharmD specifically. Most master's degrees are 2 years post bachelors, a PharmD is 4 years with some accelerated schools going year 'round for 3 years.

I have an Associates in Biology, and I am about to graduate with a Bachelor's in Biology in May, and then I'll start on the Doctorate degree in August.

Yeah, I have been working for 5 years to get into this school. It will be 5 years in college this May when I receive my bachelor's degree. I have been working at a hospital pharmacy for almost two years now. I am trained in IV compounding as well as a dispensing technician. I am the chair of the community service commitee in the future health professionals club at school, as well as lots of other volunteer experiences over the years.

It has been a long road, but I am getting somewhere finally.
