its 25 bucks to become a premium member. you get access to a personal members only room, more usage, and access to giveaways and raffles, and 2 stickers shipped to you. i guess if you have 25 bucks to piss away and want some e-cred and stickers its pretty cool.
btw the josh q fund is a fund that started when a member passed away and e30tech gathered together to raise money for christmas gifts for the members children. they still have the fund every year.
I will donate this year to fund but why the F would you pay money to a forum site??? There site is littered with ads, censorship, and idiots. Lets make there lazy owner rich.....not.

The current $5 registration fee goes directly to donations to Josh Q's kids. This was all before my time, but still, it's not like Chris is pocketing the money.
i was around back before Josh Q died, it was interesting to see how people seriously did pull together. ...they've done secret santa's before, etc. ...all in all, not bashing r3v, but tech has a different communal vibe, less emotion and fewer people like Blunt; and this site's original founder as well as sooooooo much archived technical info, just like here, as well as a wealth of OGs. some people strongly disagree with Chris' new policies, but whatever is necessary to make that world turn will happen...
personally i was one of the first to go premium simply because, to be honest, i spend much less time and much more money at bars drinking than i do on there, here, and a few other select sites. so when looked at in a mature light, it's not really that big of deal.
