Sounds good thanks for the info. I'm not trying to be "higher" class so I'll check it out but won't spend too much time there. I just don't want to walk outside and 1) get raped 2) shot 3) have my local gang banger ask if he may use my car for the day. haha

Quick question for all the Dallas guys.
I have 2 apartments I'm looking at..I know which one I like the best (because its bigger) but I'd like to know how much I will value the carport the one I don't like as much comes with?
1) 675 sq ft, 3rd floor, no carport 580
2) 628 sq ft, 3rd floor, carport 585
I like the larger apartment. The larger apartments offers carports for $40 extra a month (something I won't do)

So just got the call. I'm approved for my apartment
I went with the 628 sq ft w/ the carport. Nice apartments and I believe I'm in the building which faces Texas Motor Speedway..what a sight to wake up to every morning.
1515 Cannon Pkwy, Roanoke TX...I'll be moving there on June 17th, won't have the e30 though..Dad wants me to sell it buuuttt

You will be right down the road from me. My daughter plays soccer in Roanoke and we live in north Fort Worth just south of the town of Haslet. I am guessing you will be working for one of the logistics companies in the Alliance Corridor on 170. There are a bunch of them in that area. You picked a good location. Southlake is more expensive and full of people who are a pain in the ass (nevo rich) but it has good shopping and resturants. I just would not want to live there. They are kind of people who like their home owner associations if you know what I mean. Definitely not a blue collar town. My wife's VP lives there and I bet his house was over a million dollars. We go there every year for her group Christmas party. Roanoke and north FW are reasonably priced. Trophy Club is inbetween Roanoke and Southlake. It is more expensive but not as high as Southlake. You will live in the Northwest ISD (Independent School District. ISD is what school districts are called in Texas. The Northwest ISD is one of the best school districts in the entire DFW metro area. It would be a good place to buy a house if you plan on staying. Everything is moving into this area. If you have any questions just ask. Welcome to Texas. Oh and btw Texas doesn't have winter. I saw somewhere in this post were someone was talking about it being cold here. LOLZ I wear shorts almost year around. Now summer is a different conversation though. You are about to find out what heat is. At least it is a dry heat most of the time.

I've heard a ton of people comment on Southlake. First thing we did was eat a restaurant/bar (more bar) that had brunch on the main street of Grapevine. The two ladies there told us stay out of Southlake, they're a bunch of rich assholes that have more money then brains. I didn't have any time to see for myself because the prices are too high for my taste there.
Well it does have alittle rust on it (needs the passenger side floor pan replace...a little piece of it). I just got done with an M30 swap..thats why I don't want to sell it..I've only put about 1/8 on the new motor.
I'll be working one of the DC's on 170 (I belive). Cardinal Health is the name of the company.
About winter, I was told by one of the rental agents that you don't get "snow" you get "texas snow" aka ice. She said it happens about twice a year and shuts the entire city down. Cold doesn't bother me...I live in Ohio.Last edited by Mastrcruse; 05-21-2009, 04:53 AM.

You will laugh your ass off the first time the city "shuts down." When I was in high school the superintendent had a 4WD pickup. When we had messy weather he would take his pickup out and drive it around his block and if he made it back to his driveway we had school. I can remember driving to school on snow and ice many times back then. Hell one time I did a one-eighty in my Monte Carlo on ice trying to make a left-hand turn on the way to school. In the DFW area I have seen them call school just when snow and ice is in the forecast before anything has fallen. Most of the time the weather people around here are wrong. The big problem is the idiots down here can't drive one snow and ice much rain. One drop of rain on the road put magnets on all of their cars and they smack into each other. They think because they have a big 4WD pickup or SUV they can still drive everywhere at 75. All is fine and good until they need to stop and then they cause a big pileup because they can't get their eight thousand pound truck to stop in a hundred feet from seventy-five mph.
Pull you m30 swap out, leave the shell up there and bring the engine down here and find a rust free shell. You will be in e30 heaven here because they don't rust here.
I was just trying to be nice about Southlake. What they said isn't far from the truth though. Trophy Club is more of the same only with less money. TC is full of SL wannbees but the further west you go the better it gets.sigpic
