so about 8 months ago i drove 5 hours to trade my set up 325i with near perfect glacier blue paint for an ix. We completed the trade without test driving each others cars, not what i wanted, and before we drove away the PO says "the left front shock makes some noise when you hit a bump, i think its missing its bump stop". hahahahahahaha so i drove away in my ix with a missing front bump stop....
after the first medium sized bump i hit, it is clear that the left front shock is toast. i ended up driving the car until about a month ago, due to lack of funds, until it went under a suspension rebuild. The car sounded like death when you hit any bump with the left front but i had no other form of transportation. this is the missing "bump stop" i found

was a bitch getting it out but with enough force it came out.
then the passenger side strut was rusted out so i had to get a new one of those, thanks funkmaster. While the ix was on jacks stands we found out that all the wheel bearings where beyond shot so then those had to be taken to the machine shop to be pressed out and new ones installed. along with a new waterpump and timing belt she should be ready to do some serious snow rallying.
