    Program for building a layout

I am trying to put together a garage layout for a customer and would like to be able to make a "walk through" type setup for him. I have tried using Google Sketch Up, but it is a bit glitchy. Anyone have any good programs to use? Preferable free.

Edit - Oh ya, I am on a Mac.

Too bad Google Sketch isn't working for you - that sounds perfect for your needs.

I can get it to work a bit, but it seems like things just aren't smooth.

For example...I am trying to do a checkerboard tile flooring, so I made a section of about 10 tiles to cut and paste. I color them, etc. When I paste them the coloring gets all spazy and only shows part of it or doesn't color some.

Any guidance on getting used to Sketch Up?

          You need Visio:

Visio for MAC. Visio alternative for MAC OS X. Visio replacement for Windows and Mac OS.

It works great for simple sketch-ups, I use it all the time for ER diagrams and workcell layouts.
