    Street Racing in NC?

I've seen this on a couple of other boards and know there are some people on here from NC. Granted most people on here don't like drag racing, and get their underwear in a knot about street racing. So hopefully no one was involved on here. http://www.digtriad.com/news/top/art...14596&catid=14

Has anyone from down that way heard anything about this?

Here's some kid who got his Trailblazer SS impounded from it, http://www.s10forum.com/forum/f42/go...patrol-377961/

Lol. Street racing is such a joke. I think it's wrong for the vehicles to be impounded, but i'm glad my streets are at least that much safer. I need to dig up this hilarious video from where these street racers crashed at a mall about 10 mins from my house.

            EDIT: Here it is, hahahah

Those are F-body guys you hear laughing hysterically.

What do you want them to do? Give the cars back so they can race some more? Over here they crush them. I am glad racing isn't as bad like it used to be. used to have to take detours because they would shut down the roads.

Theres this kid at work though. He is still trying to fix up his eclipse, claims it does 170 and has drum brakes in the back. He also likes my car cause it can drift. God I hope he doesn't wreck his car and then buys an E30.

Eh, it's been a prevalent issue in NC for some reason. It started not too long ago when they impounded a lot of Civics, some eventually being crushed from what I understand. Then, in early 2008 I remember hearing about some highly modified Mustang Cobra being confiscated and then used as a police car. Then, "Operation Drift" which has taken place over the last two months has confiscated 12 vehicles (some BMW's too apparently,) handed out numerous fines, and suspended the licenses of many youngfolk. I'm happy about it, actually. They're all idiots and they have no concern for anyone around them, crush their cars and suspend their licenses for all I care.

I figured this surely wasn't just an NC problem, but I guess it's more common here than anywhere.

I think it's more common in Hickory than anywhere else in the known universe.

The best part is, the five or six officers patrolling the US-70 area always (ALWAYS) pull people over for missing lights, expired tags, or neon underglowz. They also strike fear in the hearts of loiterers as well. But people will go around and around, racing from one light to the next and they never seem to notice.
