If you like it, then get it. Since it does look decent in those pictures. Cause most of the ones i see in those years are beatup pieces of junk.

It'll be a long fight. You have no idea how hard I fought for that car. It was my dads when he was in Germany and was shipped here when he came over. He is only owner of that car. til now.

Do it! But dump the 307.

JasonC is right; I can't remember the last time I've ever seen one that wasn't a beat-down tweeker/redneck taxi. If you buy it, build it clean!

The only thing a 307 is good for is keeping a rather large boat in place on a windy day. They are junk, no power, no rev's, an like to blow up a lot. put a 283, 302(yes chevy built a 302) 327 in it. Or go BB to a 427 or a custom built 454. then you may have something.

But i'd rather have a GTA Trans Am if i was to get a 3rd gen F-body.

Yeah, and the 302 is only one of the most rare motors ever produced by chevy, if not the rarest. Only way to tell is the DZ on the side of the block, otherwise vin says its a 327... Have you ever built a 307, its a stroker, yes it can rev and yes it can run like hell if built right. Are you thinking of the 305 that chevy made, cuz that sucks, a 307 is a 283 w/ a 327 crank.

                      ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

yes I know all that. You know how to build a 302 right or a pontiac 301 (same engine) you take a 283 punch out to a 4 inch bore an leave the stroke alone (.125 over). Yes I have built a 307 an it was just a big a hunk a shit as any 305.

283 punched out out 4 inches solid lifters an big cam, an holly 750, or a fuellie set up = DOHC like rev's. Had this combo in a 86 s10 and would stomp on most everything around.

Interesting, didn't know you could get those 302's by doing that, but makes sense. Doesn't leave a ton of of room for cleaning it out a second time if shit hits the fan, gotta switch blocks at that point. Yeah, I've heard of 307's loving rev's as well. No personal experience, but engine builder has had great experience with them. It is fun w/ the little chevy motors. I've got a 350 w/ roller setup and hydraulic lifters and it loves 6500rpm's.

The hot rod guys had been doing it since the early 60's and GM took notice an built it form the factory its a nasty little motor.

I knew about it for the trans am racing and had to make them to get homologated(sp?) so they had to build the 67-69 z28's to meet the quota. Potent motor, but damn hard to find.
