except the so called third world countries affected by the tsunami (including my home country Sri Lanka - one of the worse affected) responded much better to the plight of their citizens than the world's superpower did.
to the people that lost everything they owned, their livelihood or god forbid a loved one, katrina was just as much a tragedy as the tsunami was (and I lost a relative in the tsunami). It's a matter of perspective.
