Ive been playing with this "Sea Shore" its free and open source for Apples. It doesnt seem as capable as photoshop but it works!

Download The Seashore Project for free. easy to use image editor for OSX. Work on Seashore is being deprioritized in favor of Seahorse, https://apps.apple.com/us/app/seahorse-image-editor/id6742335288?mt=12. Read more in the FAQ here https://eolcoderllc.github.io/Seahorse/future_of_seashore Seashore is a free, open-source image editor for built entirely in Cocoa.

Use Paint.net, it's free and works great for me.

      Note: I use Windows.
