Generally it costs more to execute someone than it does to keep them locked up for life... (automatic appeals blah, blah and etc..)

I'm not saying we should treat them nicely, the whole thing was in response to someone saying that killing them is the humane thing to do, and my point was that it isn't necessarily, that it would be worse to die than to sit in jail the rest of your life, even though it may not seem so now.
