Sony PSP owners, need some help

yeah so i just found out i'm headed to Hawaii for the next threee years of my life and i will be seeing this probably a few times:

so i will be headed out to the ocean for many months at a time, and i think a PSP might be a good purchase (along with many books). i have a DS right now and love it but the PSP seems like it would be a fun companion on my voyages. games, movies, music, sounds cool.

how happy are you guys that own them, and what are the must haves?

    thanks in advance!

I have one, but don't play very much anymore. Most of the games are kinda shallow, but a few keep you entertained. I think its alright, but not like an Xbox.

im not a big gamer but i like my psp. I got my used older one cause with the older versions you can download software that
allows you to burn/download games/movies/etc into the memory stick and never have to buy a game or movie again(not sure what has to be done on the newer versions)

I dont know how to do it, I just have my friend do all the downloading, uploading and all the tech stuff, i just play the games. For awhile I had super mario bros on my psp and some psone games too lol

So for me its very practical.

I enjoyed playing a PSP from time to time, I personally don't own one, it was a friends. Do you have a PS3? Supposedly some cool things you can do with them together?

As for items to get, the biggest MS Duo possible, extended-life battery?, not sure of any games that are must haves.

I love mine. If you get an old one you can hack it with software, a new one you can buy a new battery that hacks it. If you do that you can download games and put it on the PSP, you can even put emulators, I have an SNES emulator on mine with like 200 games, you ca play playstation 1 games too, and anything prior from any company.

I haven't been paying attention to new games, because I don't sit around and play at home, I only play when I travel, but even if there's a lack of good games for psp itself, there'll be something you'll like for it from some system.

I have a hacked one with all the old SNES games. it's alot of fun and keeps you entertained.

the battery life is impressive as well.

I have a 8gb memory card and have it full of games and music. I did this before flying form paris to japan, then to guam (two days transit time both ways) and it kept me pretty entertianed the whole time
