Stick with current job or take new job offer. Thoughts?

I'm going to try to make this as simple as possible, so here goes. I am having a tough call here and maybe some people can shed some light and thoughts as to what I should do.

Since I left KO Performance, I got a job at a Honda dealership, doing new car sales. I love the job, and even though all of the economy blah blah blah, Honda is actually doing pretty well. Not great, but enough for me to stick around. I love the people I work with, and even though it's a lot of hours at the dealership, they are pretty entertaining. Honda also brings me new possibilities. I spoke to guys at American Honda, and they mentioned that in the future they might consider someone like myself to join their team. (Where the heck is Torrance, CA anyways?)

Anywho, my only pet peeve with my job is the schedule and the hours. Weekends are my biggest work days, which kinda kills most of my social life. It's Friday at 9:38pm and after I finish eating dinner I am going to pass out so I can be at the dealer at 7:30am tomorrow for a sales meeting. I also work about 60hrs/week on average, which really kills most of my chance to work on my cars or go out. (FYI: Both my track car and my 318iS have been sitting broken. I have all the parts to fix it, but for the past week and a half I have not managed to find a day to do what I need)

Now, I went on Craigslist for sh*ts and giggles and found a sales job at a wheel company. They are more on the ghetto fabulous side of styling, which really isn't my fancy. I did the interview yesterday before work and the guys loved my attitute and resume.

They are offering me a job with an hourly pay that already averages what I'm pulling at Honda PLUS commission. The hours are 9 to 6pm weekdays and Saturdays till 2pm. So that kills my pet peeves at my current job right there.

Now.... I'm really not into the ghetto fabulous, but then again, give me something and I'll try to sell it. I'm just concerned that I'm going to be locked in a cubicle again and go back to making calls. At least at KO I was working with BMW parts, and that was a huge plus.

    So what would YOU do?

Dude you're too young to be wasting it on working THAT hard. I'd push some Giovannas and Lexanis for a while, then see what other jobs I could get. Also, do you want to be in sales forever? If you keep on doing sales, you will end up pigeonholing yourself.

        how established is the company?
        stability?
ghetto fab wheels are not a necessity to living, is there really a long term future there (more than a year)

I would stick with Honda... unlike the Chevys those ghetto fab wheels are going on, the Hondas you sell, and the company that makes them, will be around and are products you can be proud of.

If you want to be in sales, I cannot think of a better repeat buyer company than Honda. Their buyers are informed and ready to buy when they show up.

If you're not really a fan of the product you're selling it shows. Personally I'd stick with the job you love, but the hours and wage are tempting.

This new company has their own line of wheels. It's nothing like Lexanis and Giovannas.... just a bunch of chromed out wheels of similar style. They SEEM fairly well established, and it seems like most of their business is out of the country.

that SEEMS a little shaky to me.
i know car sales suck because you put in big time hours, it does fund your car though. right?

                  ooh. Chrome XXRs. Player.

No but seriously, I agree with der affe. How established is this company? And if they do a lot of their business out of the country, where are they selling the wheels, and where are they sourcing the wheels from?

How willing are you to go out and job search again if the new place goes under?

I'm leaving my current job soon, and they keep holding my job over me like I won't be able to find a new one because of the "Bad Economy". Screw them, I know I'm badass enough to find a better job no problem.
If you are confident in your abilities to find another job if this doesn't pan out, I would go for it.

If you can get out to Torrance, I'd do it. It's right near Redondo Beach, on the coast in the OC region. I'd be working there in a moment if the chance arose.

werd. the coast is tight. stick with honda. deal with some things that make you unhappy and in the end you'll get rewarded with something good.

Reality is heavier then the fists of confidence and happiness should be looked at over the span of its existence. If you plan to live beyond youth one should use their opportunities to create long term happiness.

I think you should stick with Honda. Just to widen the perspective and looking down the future, working at the headquarter for Honda seems like it would pay out well in the end. Honda isnt going away anytime soon.

Is this wheel company a private establishment? or publicly traded? Whos their parent comapny?
Do they have a ISO certification for from their suppliers? Who are their suppliers? Who is also partners with their suppliers? Whom do you deal with as distributors? Target market?...
