Any of you SLR guys shoot with a standard setting or are you constantly changing the settings?

I always shoot on M meaning manual. Always shoot at the lowest iso possible. Adjust your aperture 1st for your depth of view. Then adjust shutter to correct exposure. Play around and have fun.

depends. if your shooting a moving subject, continuous tracking is needed, (hi or low f-stop all depends on what you want to get out of the image) if you shooting still, i say go full manual, and if its a out about throw the camera in Aperture priority and let the camera do the baseline work for you. Manual is my fav. as it allows me to adjust anything and everything
