Watchmen might be dead before it's birth.

    This is BAD.

In a nutshell, Fox had the rights to Watchmen before Warner did, and Warner never secured the rights from Fox. It's being said that Fox isn't even after monetary compensation, they just want to stop the movie from coming out altogether. It's most likely not going to be coming out on March 20th anymore, at least.

How does Warner not 'secure' the rights for making such an expensive movie?

Welcome to over four weeks ago.

This is somewhat old news. The movie will come out, Fox just wants something for it as they know the movie will pull in a large box office return. Sources have said that Fox is using this move in an attempt to gain the right to distribute the old Batman television series on disc. I believe Fox owns some portion of the intellectual property to the old series but for some reason is not allowed to reproduce the show in disc form due to some sense of ownership by Warner. Fox is just kicking up dust to get what it wants. They have a joint interest in the success of this movie.

Am I the only person not excited about it? I mean I read the entire series, and honestly never found anything tooo awesome about it. I guess working in the comic industry for 8 years has kinda killed stuff like that for me....

Ah, I see. I just heard about it yesterday, and was panicking!

But I was talking to a friend of mine, and nowadays, even if it didn't get released in the theater, someone would leak it online and you could probably download it.
