'merica! fuck yeah!!!!

my wife and i saw the movie last night. it was fucking awesome. fucking awesome. she cried all the way through it and wants to go see it again. wahlberg did a phenomenal job depicting marcus luttrel. i thought jeremy renner would have been a better choice perhaps but he already did a movie like this.

there is nothing about this movie that will make you feel great when you walk out though. with that said, i give it 5 stars. look for some oscar nominations at the beginning of next year.

I loved the book and the movie was awesome. My girlfriend cried through the second half and a girl in the theater walked out because she couldn't sit through the violence.

Another great book is American Sniper by Chris Kyle if you're into that kind of story.

the position those men were put in is not something to feel good about. Its a product of our "leadership" trying to make warfare kinder and gentiler with rules of engagement dreamed up in a soft cushy office stateside by people that dont really understand the gravity of the situations they are putting our service men into with their feel good regulations.

The choice that was made, that lead to this ordeal, is one that never should have needed to be made in the 1st place.

I don't know how it really went down but my friend had a good point. Why couldn't they either take the villagers with them till they got way higher up the mountain (for radio and safe distance) or just take them to the extraction point and then let them go. Assuming that the operation was already compromised.

Read this book for my summer reading project as a freshman in high school. It was one of the only books that I actually read in high school.
