Apple computers may suck these days (especially with apple's horrid support), but in terms of MP3 players the Zune has no leg to stand on.

I've used the first Zune, the 4gb, and the newer generation ones, and the interface is awful, the build quality is pathetic, and microsoft's entire software package is worse then Itunes.

I currently own a 1GB Nano, 16GB Ipod Touch, and my Iphone 3G, and not only do they all work very well, I can dock them into any ipod compatible peripheral. All of my friends have ipod docks in cars, in stereo's, etc. That makes life a bit easier when I borrow my friends car and connect into his deck with all of about 3 seconds of work. Not everybody has Aux adapters, nor wants to grab the mp3 player every time they want to change a song.

Microsoft is one of my clients, and while I enjoy many things they do make, the MP3 player division is certainly not one of them.

General reviews/opinions of apple's support is top notch. Although a computer "sucking" is opinion, besides the price I don't see how that statement can be backed up.

These are all personal experiences with Apple Products over the past few years, to the point where I have given Apple many attempts at making a good product until finally I gave up.

        Item 1: Powerbook G3 12.1inch 700Mhz. $1299.99

Issue 1: Cable connecting screen to logic board cracks, causing screen to go out, took Apple 2 weeks to get the machine back and repaired.

Issue 2: Logic Board fails, known problem by Apple with no actual solution except to replace the board (http://www.apple.com/au/support/ibook/faq/)

Issue 3: Logic Board fails again, took Apple over 3 weeks to get the machine back this time.

Issue 4: Logic Board fails AGAIN, Apple stated the machine is now past warranty and will not correct the issue, nor will they provide any form of discount toward another machine. At this point I ripped usable parts out of the machine and scrapped it.

        Item 2: Powerbook G4 1.25 12inch $1499.99

Issue 1: Screen has flicker issue with the inverter, machine was less then 10 days old, replaced with another unit

Issue 2: Power brick starts melting at the connector, Apple replaced the adapter but would not do an advanced replacement, no laptop for a week as the battery does not last that long..

Issue 3: DVDRW/Superdrive fails burning and reading media, once in a blue moon it would work properly. Apple ran diagnostic software and stated the drive was fine and the OS was to blame (even though the drive made a grinding noise), took to another Apple store and they refused to replace it as well. Shipped machine to Apple and they claim the drive was fine and sent it back. I finally bought my own damn slot load DVD drive and replaced the damn thing myself, $149.99 out of my own pocket.

Item 3: Powermac G4 1.25 Mirror Door Drive Tower $1299.99

Issue 1: PCI slot on logic board was unreliable and would cause the machine to Kernel Panic, Apple replaced the logic board

Issue 2: HD failed in the machine 3 months after purchase. Apple claims the PCI SATA controller I installed (which does not relate at ALL to the onboard PATA HD) caused the issue and refused to warranty the drive. I purchased a new HD and replaced it myself

        Item 4: Powermac G5 2.7Ghz $2999.99

Oddly enough no issues on this machine, except the random kernel panics because the onboard memory controller hates 99.999% of DDR Ram

Item 5: Macbook Pro (first revision) $2499.99

Issue 1: Inverter issue causing screen to flicker, Apple replaces logic board and screen

Issue 2: Inverter once again, this time causing the screen to randomly freak out

Issue 3: Bluetooth controller causes Kernel panic every time its turned on, Apple insists its a software problem and wants us to format the machine. I install another HDD and install the OS only to find it kernel panicing again. Apple blames the HD I installed on the problem and insists we reformat with the factory installed HD. I do as instructed and problem remains. They replace the logic board...AGAIN

HOW MUCH MONEY DO I NEED TO GIVE THEM? And lets not get into the fact that I already replaced my Iphone 3G once because it kept dropping calls (Even on Edge, was clearly a hardware problem)

Over $10,000 dollars of my hard earned money have backed up my statement. Thank you

thats a really common problem with the new versions of the iPhone, not just yours. i had the first generation with Edge. in all my..1 year and some odd months of owning it, i never had a dropped call. my friend bought a new 3G iPhone and his drops calls all the time. the first one was a lot better IMO. the only reason why i got rid of it was because i didnt feel like spending 90 a month.

Perhaps we should save this discussion for a time when Mac breaks 5% sales among computer users.

it was over 7% at the start of 2008, probably more than the zune's share of the music player market

apple has always had problems with their laptop screens wimping out. i think its because of the fact that they try and make everything as thin as possible. same with the disk drives. they are located right under the area of the key board where your mouse hand rests and after a while the weight of your hand crushes it. form over function just like the xbox 360. the concave where the 360 gets thinnest is where most of the heat producing elements of the machine are leading to massive over heating.
on a more positive note i have had a iMac G4 for a long time now and i recently added a bit of memory and it kicks ass!
