Introducing My New DD - More of a Heat Score than the M3?

I just bought a new DD. Well it is a 2007 VW GTI Fahrenheit #41 of 150. I purchased it from VW Canada where they had it on display for over a year I believe. it had less than 10K (6K miles) on it and I just plated it yesterday. It also has about 3 1/2 yrs of the 4 yr warranty left. I got a deal I simply could not refuse any way I looked at it.

well here are a couple pics, haven't had a chance to detail her yet..

here are a couple press photos from the Fahrenheit

and here was my inspiration, you see I used to own a 1979 GTI in Mars Red, similar to these pics below - but digital cameras didn't exist when I owned this car and I'm too lazy to search and scan any old photos I may have, so these are for illustration..

    cheers!

      Nice car.
Shocking how much space there is around the exhaust...I guess it is an accomodation for AWD.

seems like that would make quite a nice daily- the orange is great- did they only offer this color on the fahrenheit edition?

I love that color, and I hear the DSG transmission is fantastic. I remember reading a magazine article where they said that this was the only car that they would order with an automatic.

yes, the Fahrenheit was only offered in this color, and only available in North America - for once we get something the Europeans don't:mrgreen::mrgreen:

yeah, the interior really sets the package off nicely!

The DSG is absolutely amazing. I always said I would NEVER buy and auto. But in actuality this is a fully automated electro-mechanical dual clutch .

I remember seeing this car at a 2007 auto show and thought "why is this not offered in a manual!?", but I didn't understand at the time just how great the DSG really was. Its faster shifting than we can shift a manual, it rev matches/throttle blips, anticipates whether you are upshifting or downshifting and readies the free clutch plate to the according gear.. And at the end of the day I have really begun to appreciate the fully 'automated' mode when I am in traffic etc.

                        Cheers everyone!

Congrats on the new car. I'm not a huge VW fan but I really like the GTI and I dig the orange a lot. :D
