Honestly, I see it and could see that happening more then anything else.

I honestly dont think they will ever put a ban inplace again...specially since the decision...but if they do...man thats not going to go well for whom ever votes yes for it...as in will be voted out as mentioned earlier.

This comes up quite a bit, but just last year the Supreme Court ruled on District of Columbia vs Heller, that the government cant limit ones 2nd amendment rights. Though this was a huge win for the gun community it does not stop power hungry congressmen trying to pass a ban.

Being that the economy is so messed up and the war on terror is still going, I dont feel that a gun ban would be coming up so fast. The democrats still remember what happened when they passed the last one. They got voted out the next term.

I do feel that a ban will be coming but to think its coming in just a few weeks is more myth than anything else. This has been the gun industry hay days of late. Back orders extending almost 1 year out and many on the list above are going for astronomical prices.

They will never be able to disarm America. But they can limit the sales and tax the ammo to the point one could not afford to shoot. Im sure there will be a time that we will see this. So always by cheap and stack deep.

i would be willing to back extremely stiff penalties for using a gun in the commitment of a crime. IE drug related, robbery, home invasion. if you really want to effect gun related crime (which is the mask the lay on these bills) implement a 1 strike law with no exceptions. use a gun to commit a crime, you are gone, done deal!

unfortunately it would over crowd the prison system. eventually it might work. regulating guns for law abiding people even more wont help.

people should be up in arms over this, for the mere reason that it is an inroad to modifying the constitution, no mater what side of the gun issue you are on. setting a legal precedence is the first step.

it becomes a slippery slope from there. do you really need the government to control more aspects of your life? i don't. i am just fine where it is at now.

i hunt, fish, shoot for fun/sport, and enjoy gun ownership. i do it all legally too. am i going to rise up and overthrow the government? i don't have any plans to.

those members from CA on here, have a different perspective on gun ownership because of the state they are from and it's gun laws. i can see your position on the lack of importance of guns, but based on your laws you should have the lowest crime rate in the country, right?
proof that extensive gun control works wonders and will solve the problem.

this is bullshit. to add to the car analogy, it would be like the goverment mandating that you may not own a car that has over 100 horsepower because a geo metro has enough power for anything you 'need' a car to do. you can still kill yourself with a geo, just like you can kill people with an unbanned weapon. the general public will not be affected by the ban (people will still be shot, i pormise), only the enthusiasts will, just like in the car example.
