    Huntsville AL...

I may be relocating to Huntsville this summer to intern with the IDS part of Boeing. I normally wouldn't go that far from home for an internship, but this specific one is exactly what I want to do. Working with missile defense systems, and it is with the company that I would like to work at when I graduate. Plus it pays well enough and they will also cover my relocation expenses for the summer.

What I'm wondering is how will I like it? Is there a good night life? I can stand humidity and heat, so I don't see that being a problem. Anything else I should know about the place?

    Thank you

I used to live there so...Night life--not so much. Car Culture--well developed. It is not the stereotypical southern town being populated by mostly engineering types. If you Like autoXing then you should love it. Check out Twickingham Autocross Club for more info. Nashville is a mere 1.5 hours away as is Birmingham. Atl is about a 4 hour drive. Housing is very reasonable. Umm what else? The Dyno is at Sound on Wheels. Any thing else?

Haha, that is very true. And honestly I think I'd go even if I weren't being paid, just sounds like a fucking blast. And yes, the marshall space flight center is there as well.

But I haven't been offered the spot for sure, I've just talked to a friend's father about it. Seems like I've got the credentials, so we shall see.

i grew up in huntsville. not a whole lot going on if youre from a larger metro area, but enough to keep you satisfied for a summer. i might be back in town over the summer break visiting the folks. very close to several larger cities if you cant stand it for too long. nashville(1.5hrs) atl(3hrs) let me know if you have specific questions as to where to live.

I think the hardcore music scene there is pretty big if you're into that

Nice, it's good to know that a few people are around there. I doubt I'd drive my e30 out there, but it'd be good to know some people. I doubt I'd like to hang around the chem engineers and shit too much.

                    Thanks guys.

Take the E30--the AutoX club uses an abandoned airport runway to autoX on, loads of fun.
