Still wont save you from instanton instant off radar. Always try to be next to a truck when they shoot you there is an effect with the Instant on called ghosting or shadowing that makes it read incorrectly in that situtation.

I chased my friends down with it once. My alarm's panic feature works when the car is running, so i threw the light up, turned on my flashers, and set off the siren. good times!

While the V1 is cool, I'm not willing to drop that much money just because they have the patent (which expires soon) on the stupid arrows. The Whistler unit gets almost as good range, for less than half the price of the V1 unit.

Radar/Laser detectors are perfectly legal in California. Unless you drive a vehicle over 10,000lbs or are in Virginia/D.C. it's fine.

Laser jammers, on the other hand, are indeed illegal in California. However, consider this: Possession/use of a laser jammer is an infraction. The ticket costs $99, is essentially a fix-it ticket, and gives no points on your license, whereas a speeding ticket can be anywhere from $200-$400, and gives you license points. I'd rather get the jammer ticket, wouldn't you?

I'm going to buy a jammer eventually, but this will do for now. :)
