    The Pilot is a fuckin' stud.

    Loses both engines and glides it to a smooth landing, on the water.

    0 injuries/deaths.

    Had he touched a wingtip on the water, it would've cartwheeled and it would have ended badly.

      ^ and Airbus seams to have designed a plane with cool tricks.
      1) A ditch button that seals up all "fresh air" cavities.
      2) A little wind driven fan that pops out of the engine when an engine fails to keep the hydraulic pumps working.

      Thank goodness the pilot and crew have to go through so much emergency training. It really paid of in this case.

        Supposedly a 777 can take a frozen turkey to the engine and still run fine.

          I really don't understand why they don't just put chicken wire over the intake.

          If it doesn't stop the birdies, at least it will dice them up nicely and "digest" them so that the turbines don't have to.
