17-Jan-2009
Written by: Vijay Mohan

In a likely attempt to recreate an unfortunate part of history, a man fires bullets in a Greensboro, N.C. theater.

A man was shot at a screening of the new Notorious B.I.G. film, TMZ.com reported Saturday.

One man took a bullet to the abdomen. The man who played B.I.G. in the film, Jamal Woodward, was at the theater in Greensboro, N.C., but escaped unharmed.

The police have not said if the shooting is related to the film.

A party celebrating the release of a movie about the life of Biggie Smalls ended with four people being stabbed in the rapper's home borough today, cops said.
The men were hurt around 3:25 a.m. at the event in Canarsie's Djumbala Club, on 1370 Ralph Avenue, which was billed as the "official afterparty" for the movie "Notorious."
The film opened across the country on Friday.
Three of the men were described as in stable condition in Brookdale Hospital. The fourth was in critical condition after being stabbed several times.

No desire to see that movie at all. Don't give a damn about him, his rap, or that he was shot. Don't give a damn about the guy that got shot at the movies, either

Went out to see "The Wrestler" last night at the only theater which was carrying it, coincedently in the "urban" mall (Easton). Completely forgot that this movie was opening this weekend as well.

Good fucking god. 25 cops on horses, another 40-50 inside. In the span of about an hour, there were 7 fights and a god damn mini-riot.

Same, except I was coerced into going with a group of friends for free. Bad movie, but it was moderately better than I expected. There is a very clean zinno e30 in the intro...that was probably the high point of the movie for me. ;)

What gets me is that people immortalize a dumb shit and waste police force on movie crowd control. Let the fuckers destroy themselves. It's easier in the long run.

Christ. People have been saying "they're animals, let them kill themselves off" for thousands of years. Guess what? It's not genetic. Poverty and ignorance are social phenomena and they aren't going to die off without action. It might be too late to save the gang-bangers of today, but it's not too late to save their children and grandchildren.
